our story
In 1983, the family-owned BEA'S® brand of chicharrónes got its start from my mother's (Beatrice's) kitchen at BEA'S Mexican food restaurant on the southside of San Antonio, TX. (Not to be confused for any BEA'S Mexican food restaurant that may be in San Antonio today or elsewhere.) After years in the restaurant industry, my father took a chance and started offering a favorite Mexican fried pork snack and classic Mexican food ingredient to carnicerías/meat markets that they no longer needed to make... chicharrónes.
Within a few years of having the BEA'S brand of chicharrónes in grocery stores, in carnecerías/meat markets, in convenience stores, in bars and other-- new brands of chicharrónes popped up even more. Some brands from out of state. But, as more and more Texans began to love our signature pork cracklins it was time to move product manufacturing into a Safe Food Quality Level III U.S.D.A. daily inspected facility where our legacy continues and our fan base still grows. Thank you! After 35 years in the business, we've maintained our focus and we continue to provide you the best. We use premium resources, we practice government regulated processes, we have skilled workers on our team and we utilize the best equipment for the job. That is the way it should be. Today, you can find our BEA'S brand of chicharrónes in select stores across central and south Texas. You'll also find our premium beer salts in select cantinas and sports bars across San Antonio. As second generation owners we are constantly improving and innovating our snacks. What doesn’t change is our quality and passion for great food products.
